ALYSON WOODALL – PRESCHOOL TEACHER

My name is Alyson Woodall. I am the Pre-K teacher at Guardian Angel Academy. I joined the GAA faculty after spending 13 years teaching at St. Margaret of Scotland School. My passion for teaching has come from a family full of devoted and inspiring teachers and principals. I followed in my grandmother and mother’s footsteps by attending Carlow University. I earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and elementary education after completing my undergraduate studies. At the beginning of the 2020 school year, I joined Carlow’s reading specialist program. As part of Carlow’s first class of reading specialists, I earned my Master of Education, reading specialist certification, and dyslexia certification. As I begin this school year, I am eager to help my young students build a strong educational foundation by incorporating my knowledge of effective literacy skills and strategies into my daily instruction. I also hope to help them strengthen their relationship with God as we learn new prayers and share Bible stories. Outside of school, I am happily married to my husband Justin. We have two children, Kayleigh and Xander, and a two year-old mastiff mix named Floki. I spend most of my free time taking my daughter to work at her afterschool job or watching my son play baseball and hockey. I enjoy drawing and going to the pool when I get a few moments to myself.
