Spotlight: Miss Astwood

MISS LAUREN ASTWOOD - 5TH GRADE TEACHER

Hello! My name is Miss Lauren Astwood and I am the 5A homeroom teacher here at Guardian Angel Academy. I also teach a variety of music and art classes to the 5th-8th grades. I have been with the Diocese of Pittsburgh since 2005 where I have mainly taught 6th grade at Saint Philip School. I am an alumnus of Saint Philip, attended Canevin Catholic for high school, and Clarion University for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education and Curriculum and Instruction. I have worked with many extra-curricular groups in the past including Student Council, Middle School Newspaper, Cheerleading coach, and the director of the Middle School Musicals. This year, we will carry on the spring musical tradition at GAA. The 5th-8th graders will be presenting the Little Mermaid Jr. in May 2022 and we are so excited! Outside of school, I tutor, work at Dance Time Studio, enjoy reading, and especially enjoy spending time with my family.
